Uses and Hazard of E-Mail

Hazards & uses of email

Uses of email:

1. Email can be used to pass information very quickly between people who are miles away from each other.

2. Important information such as a news story can be sent to the newspaper office faster than it could be by post.

Hazards of email:

1. In this day and age there are many malicious uses of communication channels, and email is one of the most abused. For example people use email to cheat people into parting with their money.

2. Possibly the biggest hazard of using email is the downloading & opening of attachments. Even when they are from people you know & trust, often the attachments can be infected with viruses or spyware on their way from the sender’s computer to yours. Therefore it is safer to scan the attachment before downloading it onto your computer
